The Problem
Growing European regulatory and market pressure to eliminate PFAS-based materials from cable construction left the customer without a suitable heating cable solution. Existing options either met environmental expectations or technical compliance requirements — but not both.

What We Did
WIPE hotwire redesigned the heating cable platform from the ground up, replacing all fluoropolymer-dependent construction elements with engineered alternative materials. The approach went beyond simple material substitution, treating the project as a full sustainability-led cable redesign aligned with ECHA material strategy and the IEC 60800 and VDE requirements for resistive comfort-heating applications.
